Net Neutrality

Net neutrality is what makes the internet a fair playing field. Without net neutrality websites that can afford more are going to be granted more bandwidth from ISP’s. This means for instance that Comcast would make it so that websites who do not pay them would load slower for you. This would make it more frustrating for you to visit sites that can’t afford to pay more money for dedicated bandwidth. If net neutrality was lifted than ISP’s like Comcast would be able to shake down web sites for money so that their audience will be able to view their web site at a optimal speed. Comcast has said they would never restrict a websites bandwidth just to get more money from them however they are already guilty of doing exactly this to Netflix. Watch the video to learn more about why net neutrality is so important.
